What is Hurdu?

Hurdu is the new name for Roman Hindi and Urdu.

This web site is dedicated to the CORRECT Spelling of the Hurdu Words.

Background

Hindi and Urdu are 2 languages in Indian Sub-continent that sound the same, have 99%
same words but are considered as 2 different languages.

Anyone speaking Hindi can understand Urdu and anyone speaking Urdu can understand
Hindi.

Essentially they are the same languages, but written in 2 different ways.

Urdu uses Persian Text and Hindi does not.

Today, millions of people worldwide type Hindi and Urdu in ROMAN characters due to the
ease of using such on our computers.

Hurdu.com will be the Roman Hindi and Urdu Dictionary. We welcome the world to use it as
a reference to spell Hindi and Urdu in a standard fashion using Roman characters.

Hurdu.com's goal is to collect all the Urdu and Hidi words, and display the meaning, sounds,
and standard ROMAN spelling of these 2 languages.

It's my version of Webster's dictionary for Hindi and Urdu.
